metro area's largest employment center, dominated by jobs in services
(health in particular) and government. This area contains five hospitals,
the airport, and Albuquerque's two largest educational institutions--UNM

business districts are almost exactly in the center of PIA 5.

are 87106 & 87108, where the highest percentage of the state's
artists reside, according to the NM Arts Division registry.
The intersection
of San Mateo and Central is the10th busiest in the metro area, with

The boundaries
of Highland's business area are Washington to San Mateo, Copper
to Zuni.
The boundaries
of the Nob Hill business district are Girard to Washington, Silver
to Monte Vista/Campus/Copper; it is entirely within the Nob Hill
Sector Development Plan. East of Carlisle has become known as Upper
Nob Hill.
Nob Hill
is immediately east of the UNM campus. Student enrollment at UNM's
main campus was 23,545 for 2000-2001. Average age of UNM students
is 27. UNM employs 9,485 in staff and faculty. (UNM)

9-block stretch of Central Avenue in Upper Nob Hill and Highland.

Downtown, less than 1 mile from I-40, and1.5 miles from I-25.

area switching station is located at Sierra and Copper---about midway
between Girard & San Mateo. All Qwest services are available
districtwide.
